Project Manager – Restoration & Reconstruction Doctor Fix-It Restoration & Reconstruction Mt. Laurel, NJ Full-Time | Salary Position | On-Call Rotation Doctor Fix-It Restoration & Reconstruction is looking for an experienced Restoration Project Manager to lead both mitigation and reconstruction projects from start to finish. This is not an entry-level position, and it’s not a typical 9-to-5 job. If you’re looking for a job where someone reminds you to do your paperwork, follows behind you fixing mistakes, or tells you what to do every hour of the day, this won’t be the right fit. We’re looking for someone who takes ownership, leads by example, solves problems, builds relationships, and gets things done. Position Overview As a Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for selling work, developing scopes of work, managing crews and subcontractors, maintaining customer relationships, networking for new opportunities, and ensuring projects are completed safely, profitably, and to the highest standards. This is primarily a management and leadership role. You will not be swinging a hammer every day. However, when emergencies happen and staffing is short, everyone—including management—steps up to help. You must have restoration industry experience. We are not looking for someone from general construction who has never managed mitigation projects. Responsibilities Sell restoration and reconstruction projects. Scope mitigation and rebuild jobs. Develop detailed scopes of work and coordinate with the estimator to ensure accurate estimating and smooth job handoffs. Manage mitigation and reconstruction projects from start to finish. Lead and supervise mitigation crews and reconstruction subcontractors. Coordinate labor, equipment, materials, and schedules. Conduct job site visits and quality control inspections. Ensure all work is completed according to IICRC standards and applicable building codes. Maintain communication with homeowners, insurance adjusters, property managers, and commercial clients. Attend networking events, BNI meetings, coffee meetings, and other relationship-building opportunities to generate business. Build and maintain referral partner relationships. Maintain project schedules and profitability. Handle emergency response situations and changing priorities. Participate in the manager on-call rotation, approximately every three weeks. Assist in the field during staffing shortages or emergency situations. Ensure crews complete proper documentation, photos, moisture logs, notes, and paperwork. Submit mitigation paperwork for billing within 24 hours of project completion. Hold crews and subcontractors accountable for quality, professionalism, and productivity. Address problems immediately instead of allowing issues to grow. Provide leadership, direction, and support to team members. Requirements Minimum of 5 years of restoration industry experience. Experience managing both mitigation and reconstruction projects. Strong knowledge of water, mold, fire, and reconstruction processes. Thorough understanding of IICRC standards and local building codes. Ability to accurately scope mitigation and reconstruction projects and communicate those scopes effectively to the estimating team. Proven leadership experience managing crews and subcontractors. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Ability to remain calm and make decisions under pressure. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Ability to participate in an on-call rotation. This Position Is NOT For You If: You need constant reminders to complete paperwork or job notes. You struggle with follow-through and organization. You avoid difficult conversations with customers, crews, or subcontractors. You’re looking for a strict 9-to-5 schedule. You don’t like being held accountable. You don’t have restoration industry experience. You’re simply looking for a paycheck without putting in the work. You make excuses instead of finding solutions.
