PURPOSE: Perform the duties required to maintain a safe, clean, well-maintained, learning environment for students and patrons.


QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or equivalent; or
A combination of education, experience, and training that indicates the ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the position listed above; and
A valid Washington State driver's license/reliable transportation


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Ability to lift up to fifty pounds (50 lb.)
Ability to stoop and bend
Ability to climb to the height of fifteen (15) feet
Ability to communicate effectively with staff to achieve a safe and comfortable work environment and meet the goals and objectives of the District
Possess and maintain licenses and special endorsements as may be required by the employer.
Physical labor for up to an eight-hour shift


PERFORMANCE, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Maintain cleanliness of building and campus in all respects.
2. Vacuum, sweep, dust, and mop floors and/or carpets, as needed.
3. Clean restrooms, furniture, walls, and fixtures, as needed.
4. Sanitize body-contact areas including drinking fountains, sinks, toilets, urinals, etc.
5. Clean/wash door glass and windows, as needed.
6. Apply floor seals and finishes, as needed.
7. Replace (applicable incandescent) burned out lights, as needed and appropriate.
8. Operate cleaning machines as required.
9. Ensure comfortable work environment including temperature, ventilation, and building safety.
10. Provide night security of assigned facility.
11. Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor/Building Administrator

Rate of Pay (2026-27 School Year) depends on position worked substitute rates for facilities positions are as follows:
Building Custodian: $25.95
Stadium/Grounds Custodian: $26.85
Groundsperson: $26.85
General Maintenance: $29.40

REPORTS TO: Facilities Supervisor with input by the Building Principal

For on-call positions, eligibility for benefits is determined by a number of factors, including the number of hours an employee worked during the last two (2) school years (September 1 through August 31). Regular employees who are not in on-call positions and are anticipated to work 630 hours or more in a year are eligible for the following benefits: medical, dental, vision, retirement, life insurance, long-term disability and the employee assistance program.

This benefit is available, based on the outcome of annual voting of employees by group.
