You will promote the optimal health, well-being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act, and demonstrate personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.Previous PACU experience or strong clinical background requiredPrevious PACU/ICU/ED experience requiredDay to Day duties:Recover all cases both Phase I & II.Approx. 30+ cases per dayRecovery of both Phase I & II in same area.RNs will cover both pre-op and PACU areas with 3-4 total on each shift.Staff is expected to float between Pre Op/ PACURNs in pre-op/ PACU are responsible for pre op calls, PATs, transports in addition to the clinical aspects of pre-op and PACU care.Unit does see a few recoveries form other departments but is rareOR Suites-17PACU Bays- 12 Bays36 Prep Op BedsPhase I & II recovered in same areasSchedule- 24 hrs/Week- Nights- Shifts will be Fri- Sat or Sat-Sun- 1 week on/ 1 week off- TBD during interview with ManagerCall Required-1 shift during the week (11p-730a) and one day during the weekend (7p-7a) per month60Min Call Back radiusJob RequirementsIn addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified nursing candidates will need the following: Education Requirements Associates Degree in Nursing required; Nursing Diploma or by endorsementBachelors Degree in Nursing preferredGraduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates, preferred for experienced RNs Experience Requirements One year experience preferredNursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty Licenses/Certification Requirements RN License required; Current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact Physical Requirements Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
