Category: Food & Beverage Position: Banquet Chef MacRay Banquet and Event Center is premier event destination located within MacRay Harbor in Harrison Township, Michigan, along the shores of Lake St. Clair. We are seeking a creative and highly organized Banquet Chef to oversee high-volume food production for weddings, corporate galas, and social events. Key Responsibilities Event Execution: Oversee the preparation, cooking, and plating of meals for all banquet events. Monitor and maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment and work areas to meet or exceed company and state standards. Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and collaborate with staff to ensure successful event execution and guest satisfaction. Maintain high standards of food presentation, taste and food safety/sanitation compliance. Inventory Management: Oversee food costing, ordering, and inventory control to minimize waste. Perform physical inventory according to schedule provided. Qualifications Minimum 3 years experience in a high-volume banquet, catering, or hotel culinary operations. Proven track record of successfully managing kitchen staff and executing events for 200+ guests. Strong understanding of food costing, inventory and health codes. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays based on event schedules. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Basic math and inventory skills. Self-motivated with effective time management skills. Ability to maintain professionalism and teamwork in a fast-paced environment. Ability to stand and move continuously for up to 4 hours at a time. Ability to work in varying temperatures, including freezers and hot kitchen environments.
