Genesis10 is currently seeking a Python Developer with our client in the financial industry located in New York, NY. This is a 12+ month contract position. Responsibilities include:

• Develop software using Object-Oriented Design patterns
• Lead the designing, development, and testing of our Risk applications for the Cleared Derivatives Business
• Collaborate with other teams to understand and resolve issues
• Report on project status and issues
• Create technical documentation
• Mentor junior developers

Requirements:

• Experience in developing High-performance API's using Fast API and Python
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design principles
• Proficiency in asynchronous programming
• Knowledge of API Gateway concepts, including routing, throttling, and request/response transformations
• Experience in distributed caching, using Redis, etc.
• Familiarity with message queues for distributed systems
• Familiarity in CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment
• Strong adherence in writing enterprise-grade coding standards
• Proficiency in writing modular, reusable, and testable code
• Familiarity with design patterns (e.g., Factory, Singleton, Dependency Injection)
• Ability to write clear and concise technical documentation
• Experience with Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams

Desired skills:

• A degree in computer science or a related field
• Experience with authentication and authorization mechanisms
• Familiarity with streaming APIs and WebSocket protocols
• Experience with profiling tools for identifying bottleneck
• Proficiency in OpenTelemetry for distributed tracing, metrics, and logs
• Experience with Splunk and Dynatrace for log aggregation and performance monitoring
• Familiarity with environment-specific configurations and secrets management
• Proven ability to work within a team with good interpersonal communication skills
• Comfortable with an Event Based Paradigm, Multithreading, and Asynchronous concepts
• Eager and willing to learn the business and existing systems

Pay Range: $74.51-$82.51 Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
