Student Account Specialist

Title: Student Account Specialist Position Type: Staff Full-Time Days Per Week: Monday - Friday Hours Per Week: 40 VP Area: Finance and Administration Department: Business and Finance Location: Elon Campus Position Summary This position is primarily responsible for handling student account inquiries by phone, email and in person. Facilitating payments as they are made in person, online, by mail or by financial aid is also a main job function. Delivering exceptional customer service to all of the Elon University community is essential. Minimum Required Education and Experience Associate degree, or vocational or technical school degree in Business or Finance with minimum 1 year of experience with the following relevant work experience: Experience with Microsoft Office products, strong Excel skills required. Knowledge of Ellucian Colleague and Informer software desired. Ability to establish and maintain professional and productive working relationships at all levels across the University. Ability to prioritize responsibilities in a fast paced environment. Preferred Education and Experience Associate degree, or vocational or technical school degree in Business or Finance Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong skills in the areas of conflict resolution and problem solving techniques. Exceptional critical thinking skills demonstrated by the ability to analyze information, evaluate results, and facilitate resolution. Job Duties Cashiering and daily balancing of payments made in person and by mail. Answering telephone calls, as well as departmental email and general customer service tasks related to serving students, faculty and staff. Invoice and reconcile departmental charges assessed to student accounts andProcess petty cash reimbursements.
