Little Traverse Bay Humane Society, a no-kill, non-profit organization located in Emmet County, Michigan, is dedicated to providing compassionate care for animals in need. Each year, we find homes for over 500 cats and dogs and offer a wide array of community-focused programs, including low-cost spay/neuter services, affordable veterinary care, and a Pet Food Pantry. Our mission extends beyond adoption, as we aim to educate the public on the humane treatment of companion animals through outreach and specialized programs. In addition to adoption services, we provide boarding, grooming, training, and veterinary services, ensuring that every animal in our care receives the love and support they deserve on their journey to a forever home. Role Description This is a part or full-time on‑site role based in Harbor Springs, MI, for a Licensed Veterinary Technician. The Licensed Veterinary Technician will provide high‑quality medical care to animals in our shelter program by assisting veterinarians with diagnostic tests, administering treatments, and performing routine procedures. Responsibilities also include preparing animals for surgical procedures, monitoring anesthesia, educating clients on pet care, maintaining medical records, and assisting with animal care needs. Qualifications Proficiency in Animal Care and Veterinary Technology Experience in Anesthesiology and Pet Care practices Strong Client Education skills to communicate effectively Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Licensed Veterinary Technician certification preferred Empathetic and patient approach to both animals and their owners Ability to handle physically demanding tasks and work in a fast-paced setting Previous experience in shelter medicine or clinical settings is a plus #J-18808-Ljbffr Little Traverse Bay Humane Society
