Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN with Level I or II trauma experience and at least 2 years of recent specialty experience for a 4x12 day shift assignment.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit in a hospital setting
• Team nursing model with 1:6-7 patient ratios, supported by PCC and LPN staff
• Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours (7:00 AM-7:00 PM)
• On-call and weekend shifts required as needed
• Weekend block scheduling may be considered, to be discussed during interview
• Floating may occur between like units and campuses within a 20-mile radius

Requirements

• Active RN license in the state or compact RN license compliant with NLC guidelines
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Med/Surg Tele required, 3+ years preferred
• BLS certification required, NIHSS preferred
• Level I or Level II Trauma experience required
• Large hospital experience preferred
• ADN accepted
• At least 1 completed prior travel assignment required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Driver's license copy required for consideration
• Skills required include IV therapy, central line and PICC line management, blood product administration, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and wound care

Additional Information

• Provide medical-surgical and telemetry nursing care including monitoring, medication administration, and emergency response support
• Must be willing to work 2 of 3 major holidays if Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's fall within the assignment, or at least 1 of 2 if only two holidays occur
• Former permanent staff or travelers at this facility must be separated for at least 1 year before returning
• Local candidates must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered
• All requested time off must be submitted upfront, as post-offer RTO requests will not be honored
