Location: Kirkland, Washington Engagement: Full-time What you'll do Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP standards. Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and journal entries. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop budgets and forecasts, providing financial insights to drive business performance. Prepare and review tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Conduct detailed variance analysis to identify trends and discrepancies, presenting findings to senior management. Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency. Mentor and train junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development. Liaise with external auditors during the annual audit process, providing necessary documentation and support. Monitor cash flow and manage accounts payable and receivable processes to optimize working capital. Utilize accounting software and tools to streamline financial reporting and analysis. Participate in special projects and initiatives as required, contributing to the overall success of the finance team. Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes, ensuring that the company remains compliant and competitive. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards. Proficiency in accounting software, such as QuickBooks, SAP, or similar platforms. Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information clearly. Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience with tax preparation and compliance is highly desirable. CPA certification or progress towards certification is a plus. Nice to have Familiarity with financial modeling and forecasting techniques. Experience in a consulting or professional services environment. Knowledge of ERP systems and their integration with accounting functions. Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role. Understanding of international accounting standards and practices. Skills & tools Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and complex formulas. Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI. Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement. Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across departments. Practical notes This position is based in Kirkland, Washington, and may require occasional travel for client meetings or training sessions.
