The Medical Surgical Telemetry Nurse plays a vital role in delivering comprehensive care to patients with a mix of acute and chronic conditions. Working within a medium-sized team of 6 to 15 nurses and reporting to the Nurse Manager, this role involves managing patient care primarily during day, night, and weekend shifts. The nurse is responsible for providing high-quality clinical interventions, monitoring patient progress, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal outcomes.

 

Per Diem - 12 Hour Shifts - Days, Nights and Weekends

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care tailored to acute and chronic medical surgical cases
• Administer medications safely and accurately
• Manage wound care and monitor healing progress
• Monitor vital signs and patient status regularly
• Educate patients and families on care plans and health management
• Develop and implement individualized care plans
• Administer and monitor IV therapy
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary team members
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in patient records
• Respond promptly and efficiently to patient emergencies

 

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in medical surgical nursing
• Telemetry experience is welcomed
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• ACLS certification
• Strong skills in patient assessment and wound care
• Proficient in IV therapy and medication administration
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
• Excellent critical thinking and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate within a team and manage time efficiently
