The perfect candidate would have experience in phonological/speech sound disorders, late talking toddlers, social communication disorders, language-based learning disabilities, Autism, oral motor deficits, feeding, and fluency. The right person will have a strong work ethic, be organized, and passionate about working with kids. Spanish speaking candidates preferred. About Speak Up Speech Therapy: Located in Clackamas, just off of 205, Speak Up Speech Therapy is a pediatric clinic that I opened 7 years ago. I have worked in a variety of settings focusing solely on pediatrics for 18 years. There are currently 3 other providers working full time at our clinic. We work with a wide variety of developmental and medical concerns including autism spectrum disorders, expressive & receptive language delays, stuttering, auditory processing issues, literacy, feeding and articulation disorders. Aside from treating the child, our clinic focuses on teaching the parents how to be successful with their child at home. I want the child and family to feel empowered and have confidence in the skills they are developing. I provide a very collaborative environment that supports relying on your colleagues to help with ideas and treatment methods. Speech-Language Pathologist Responsibilities: Perform comprehensive diagnostic evaluations on children ages 0-18. Analyze, interpret, and document evaluation results. Develop patient care plan with short and long-term goals. Maintain all records in compliance with regulations, reimbursement requirements, and job responsibilities. Plan and provide therapy according to individual needs and goals. Perform routine documentation of client performance, adjusting goals and treatment as needed, and determine discharge care plans as appropriate. Provide family education and training to assist in carryover of skills into a client’s daily living environment. Communicate with other professionals such as physicians, psychologists, social workers, behavior therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and recreation therapists, with signed release of information. Team with parent and/or other team members in a therapy session, as appropriate. Make appropriate referrals for additional services such as psychiatry, psychology, dentistry, audiology, behavior therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy and educational therapy. Maintain compliance with state and federal policies, Oregon State Board for Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology and ASHA. Supervise aides/volunteers, other Speech-Language Pathologists and/or Speech-Language Pathology Assistants as assigned Participate in in-services and/or parent education training programs, as appropriate. Employment Standards: Master’s Degree in speech-language pathology/communicative disorders or equivalent from an accredited college or university Valid Oregon License as a Speech-Language Pathologist issued from the Oregon State Board for Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology. Two or more years of experience preferred, but a strong candidate with less experience will be considered. Pediatric experience required. Strong CF’s may be considered. Knowledge of: Speech and language pathology equipment, materials, and procedures; Normal speech, language, and hearing development; Language disorders evaluation and treatment; Articulation disorders evaluation and treatment; Acquired disorders evaluation and treatment; Learning patterns in children; Behavior management techniques and strategies; Learning problems of children with special education needs; English usage, punctuation, spelling, grammar, and math; Physical Requirements: Essential duties require, but are not limited to, the following physical abilities: Sit at a desk, table, on low chairs, on the floor or on mats, or in classrooms of various configurations for extended periods of time. See, read and distinguish colors, a computer screen, educational materials, books and other printed matter, with or without vision aids. Manual dexterity to enter data into a computer, and to perform assigned classroom tasks using both hands. Speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in normal classrooms, outdoors, and on the telephone. Mental acuity to perform the essential functions of this position in an accurate, neat, and timely fashion; to make good judgments and decisions; and to evaluate the results of decisions and judgments. #J-18808-Ljbffr
