Senior Solution Architect – Technology Architecture Team

In this role, you will drive the architecture and strategic direction of mission‑critical payment solutions that power secure, scalable, and reliable transaction experiences worldwide. You will influence how technology enables business growth, accelerate innovation through cloud‑native and microservices‑based architectures, and help deliver solutions that support Global Payments' mission of simplifying payments and enabling commerce across the globe. Working alongside business and technology leaders, you will play a key role in defining the future state of our platforms while creating lasting impact for clients, colleagues, and the business.

What you'll own

• Define and drive architecture strategy for enterprise payment platforms, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, cost‑effective, and aligned with long‑term business objectives.
• Influence technology direction and platform modernization by championing cloud‑native architectures, application programming interfaces (APIs), and microservices that improve performance, resilience, and speed to market.
• Lead cross‑functional solution design decisions that reduce complexity, strengthen operational efficiency, and enable teams to deliver high‑quality outcomes with confidence.
• Identify and resolve architectural risks and gaps to improve system reliability, availability, and compliance while supporting business continuity and client trust.
• Mentor and guide engineering teams by establishing architectural best practices that elevate technical capabilities, accelerate innovation, and drive measurable business value.

What you'll bring

• Proven experience designing and delivering complex enterprise application architectures with a strong focus on scalability, performance, and business alignment.
• Deep expertise in microservices architecture, APIs, application security, and modern software development practices using Java, Kotlin, or C#.
• Demonstrated success leading technical teams and influencing stakeholders across business and technology functions to achieve strategic outcomes.
• Strong understanding of highly available distributed systems, databases, concurrency, and cloud‑based architecture principles.
• Ability to evaluate complex challenges, make informed architectural decisions, and communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non‑technical audiences.

It's a bonus if you have

• Master's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Experience designing and deploying solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration technologies in large‑scale production environments.
