Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Summary:
Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in a Med/Surg unit, focusing on cardiac patients with advanced monitoring and medication management needs. Ensure patient safety, comfort, and adherence to clinical protocols throughout shifts.

Responsibilities:

• Administer medications, including Heparin, Cardizem, Dopamine, and Amiodarone drips, per physician orders.
• Conduct bedside patient assessments, including hourly rounding and vital sign monitoring, utilizing telemetry equipment.
• Document patient data accurately in the Meditech system and acknowledge rhythm strips each shift.
• Manage cardiac procedures such as EKGs, chest tube care, wound vacs, and telemetry application.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care and address needs proactively.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies on alarms, documentation, and infection control protocols.

Qualifications:

• Possess valid RN licensure with a minimum of 2 years' Med/Surg experience.
• Hold current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Demonstrate knowledge of cardiac medications, drips, and telemetry procedures.
• Exhibit strong clinical assessment skills, bedside manner, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, accommodating rotating shifts including weekends.
• Familiarity with Meditech or similar documentation systems.
