Workers' Compensation Senior Claim Representative II - Eastern Alliance

An exciting opportunity to join ProAssurance and support our workers' compensation line in Charlotte, NC. The role is hybrid, with office presence approximately two days per month. Responsibilities 35% – Complete ongoing claim management activities proactively and with urgency, following the ecovery® Return to Wellness philosophy to achieve favorable outcomes for injured workers and insurers. 25% – Promptly investigate all assigned claims to assess coverage, determine injury extent, and communicate Return to Wellness expectations to all parties. 15% – Prepare claim status reports for customers, agents, underwriters, reinsurers and other stakeholders; attend point‑of‑sale presentations and claim review meetings. 15% – Manage Return to Wellness initiatives, collaborating with agents, clients, risk managers and underwriters to ensure proper return‑to‑work guidelines are followed. 5% – Participate in monthly large‑account team meetings, discussing results, profitability, and renewal strategy. 5% – Assist with company projects and attend professional development events such as seminars, classes, and conferences. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of seven years’ experience in workers' compensation claims management, or a minimum of twelve years of professional claims experience without a degree. Advanced certification or training required. Comprehensive knowledge of applicable state laws and industry standards; experience handling serious, catastrophic and litigated claims. Active license in NC or SC, or willingness to obtain one. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new software applications. Strong analytical, organizational, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to listen empathically and respond effectively to injured workers, agents, and other constituents. Capacity to independently attend industry and business functions to promote the company.
