Location: Harahan, LA 70123


Pay: Competitive / DOE (Based on Experience)


Shift: Full-time (Regional/Long-Haul; 1-2 overnight stays per week)


Job Overview


A local building materials distributor in Harahan is seeking a dependable CDL-A Flatbed Driver to transport and deliver products to commercial and residential sites. This position primarily covers local routes across the Greater New Orleans area, with occasional regional runs extending out to Florida and Arkansas. Drivers will be paired with a dedicated driver helper to assist with freight handling and job site offloading.


Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate and navigate CDL-A flatbed trucks on local routes and regional multi-state trips.
• Assist in loading, securing, strapping, and unloading heavy building materials at customer sites.
• Coordinate with assigned driver helper to ensure safe, efficient, and damage-free material handling.
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate logbooks, delivery documentation, and customer receipts.
• Manage regional routes requiring 1 to 2 overnight stays away from home per week.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Active Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class A) required.
• Proven experience driving flatbeds and securing flatbed cargo is required.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check required following the interview.
• Drug screen (DT) required.
• Physical ability to climb on flatbed trailers, handle heavy building products, and perform manual loading/unloading tasks.
