Reports To: Director of IDD Services
Location: Doylestown, PA and surrounding areas
Schedule: Part-time; primarily late afternoons, evenings, and weekends
Salary: $20.00 - 22.00 / hour

Job Summary:

As a DSP providing In-Home and Community Support (IHCS) services through TNS’s Livin’ the Dream Program, you will work one on one with young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to promote independence, community integration, and overall well-being. Services may be delivered in the individual’s home or in their community settings. You will help individuals achieve their goals, develop life skills, and participate fully in their communities. This role is especially suited for individuals with availability during late afternoons, evenings, and weekends, when support is most often needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct care and support in the individual’s home and community to enhance independence, daily living skills, and inclusion.

• Assist participants in developing and maintaining social skills, independence, and community integration.

• Implement individualized plans and activities as outlined by the Program Specialist. Support skill development in areas such as: communication and social skills, self-care and personal hygiene, household tasks and meal preparation, mobility and transportation, community participation and socialization

• Accompany individuals to community events, appointments, or recreational activities.

• Monitor and document participant progress, behaviors, and achievements.

• Ensure the safety and well-being of participants during community based activities and volunteer experiences.

• Assist participants with daily living activities, as needed.

• Communicate regularly with Program Specialists and Program Managers regarding participant progress and any concerns.

• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to participant activities and progress.

• Foster a supportive and positive environment for participants.

• Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and regulations.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred).

• Minimum of 1 year of experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Patience, compassion, and a genuine interest in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

• Commitment to the mission and values of the organization.

Working Conditions:

• Part-time position with flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

• Community-based work environment with frequent local travel within Bucks County.
