Cook - Senior Living Up to $25/hour, dependent on experience. Every other weekend off, and shifts end by 7 PM. Cook for residents who'll know your name at The Shores in Ocean City, NJ. The Shores, a United Methodist Communities senior living community, is hiring a Cook for our dining team. What You'll Do Create and prepare quality meals that are appealing, well-balanced, and served promptly to residents and guests Maintain safe food handling practices throughout preparation, storage, service, and kitchen cleanup Use standardized recipes and serving guidelines to support consistency, minimize waste, and promote efficient operations Assist with meal service across dining venues, community events, catered functions, and special programs Help maintain an organized, sanitary, and safety-focused kitchen environment Contribute to a positive dining experience through teamwork and attention to detail What You'll Need Required: High school diploma or GED 18 years of age or older 1–2 years of cooking or meal preparation experience Able to read recipes and safety instructions and communicate with the care team in English Preferred: ServSafe certification or equivalent food safety training Pay & Benefits Up to $25/hour, dependent on experience Eligible after 60 days full-time: medical, dental, vision, prescription, legal, and life insurance, single coverage as low as $40/week Group and voluntary life insurance Tuition assistance, professional development, e-learning Generous PTO plus 9 paid holidays Retirement plan with employer match Employee assistance and discount programs Schedule Full-time and per diem shifts available Choose 6:00 AM–2:00 PM, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM, or 11:00 AM–7:00 PM Every other weekend, climate-controlled kitchen year-round Before You Apply Requires a drug test and background check Flu vaccination required; medical and religious exemptions may be requested We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and are committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
