We’re looking for a Business Analyst within the Tax Managed Overlay Team, part of the Managed Account Solutions Team (MAST) to lead the strategic development, governance, and enhancement of tax-optimized managed account solutions, driving innovation, operational scalability, and platform evolution through close partnership with Portfolio Management, Product, Technology, and key business stakeholders. Responsible for identifying growth opportunities, delivering new capabilities, and advancing the firm's managed account strategy, including overlay management and the transition toward UMA solutions. Your duties will include: championing transformational change and continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance client experience, operational effectiveness, and platform scalability. Drive innovation initiatives by partnering with Portfolio Managers, Product Management, Technology, and key stakeholders to identify, assess, and scope requirements. Monitor industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging developments. collaborating with Portfolio Managers and cross-functional teams to streamline processes, enhancing operating models, improving scalability, and increasing organizational efficiency. Evaluating alternative approaches, and recommend improvements to investment outcomes. Coaching on tools and methods for improving efficiency and effectiveness. Seeking opportunities to expand this process across the broader SMA business. leading the development and implementation of overlay management capabilities across third-party strategies, supporting the strategic evolution toward Unified Managed Accounts (UMA) and broader managed account platform objectives. overseeing the governance and oversight of tax-optimized investment models, ensuring adherence to internal model governance standards, risk controls, and regulatory requirements. Assessing alternative risk models for improvements in efficiency, cost and client outcomes. developing and maintaining project roadmaps, business cases, and implementation plans to support strategic initiatives and product enhancements. Establishing clear project governance, track milestones, manage dependencies, and proactively mitigate delivery risks and issues. Preparing and presenting progress updates, recommendations, and business outcomes to senior leadership. coordinating cross-functional delivery efforts across Investments, Product, Technology, Operations, Compliance, and Distribution teams to ensure successful execution of key initiatives. The team You’ll be working in the Managed Account Solutions Team (MAST) with a focus on Tax Managed strategies and custom overlays. The team has been managing Separately Managed Accounts (SMAs) for over 25 years, delivering a wide array of UBS AM strategies (stand-alone, multi-asset, active, passive) as well as the addition of value-added overlays such as Personalized Tax Management. You'll play an important role in improving investment outcomes for clients by driving efficiency, creating scale, and introducing new services and products. Your Skills And Experience ideally 10+ years line or project management experience within financial services in-depth knowledge of tax managed SMA’s, optimization techniques/vendors and risk models good understanding of operational and investment processes including SMAs and/or Wealth Management systems demonstrated process optimization experience (Lean or Six Sigma knowledge and skills are a plus) project management experience using Agile/Scrum methodologies track record of contributing to and leading change initiatives excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging to diverse audiences naturally inquisitive, able to challenge effectively and manage conflicting stakeholder needs strong analytical, communication and facilitation (workshops) skills able to collaborate at all levels within the organization great communicator, comfortable interacting with colleagues at all levels solid organizational skills, known for hitting deadlines self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and take initiative Bachelor’s/master’s degree or equivalent in banking and finance or a related field you’re curious to explore how AI can improve how we build, deliver, and optimize workflows.
