Basic functions and scope of job include safely operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment to move, load, unload, and stack materials within the warehouse or production facility. This role supports efficient operations while maintaining safety, accuracy, and cleanliness standards.

Key responsibilities include operating forklifts safely and efficiently, preparing and staging loading pallets and equipment, loading, unloading, moving, stacking, and organizing materials and products, transporting goods to designated storage areas, production lines, or shipping docks, inspecting forklift equipment daily and reporting mechanical issues or safety concerns, accurately following inventory control procedures, assisting with shipping and receiving activities as needed, maintaining clean and organized work areas, following all safety guidelines, OSHA regulations, and company policies, communicating with supervisors and team members regarding workflow and issues, and supporting general warehouse duties during downtime.

Requirements include valid forklift certification or ability to obtain certification, proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or industrial environment, knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices, ability to read work orders, labels, and basic documentation, strong attention to detail and accuracy, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical requirements include ability to lift, push, and pull materials (often up to 50 lbs), comfortable standing, bending, reaching, and climbing in a fast-paced environment, and ability to work in varying temperatures (depending on facility).

Preferred qualifications include high school diploma or equivalent, experience with inventory systems or warehouse management software (WMS), experience in manufacturing, distribution, or logistics environments, knowledge of pallet racking systems and load limits.
