About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our digital transformation team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our data infrastructure to support business intelligence, analytics, and data-driven decision-making across the organization. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, external partners, and technical teams to ensure seamless data integration, quality, and governance. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with modern data stack technologies, including Snowflake, dbt, and Amazon Quicksight, and possess a strong understanding of e-commerce workflows and web/app data flows. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence strategic initiatives by enabling data accessibility and insights that drive operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Several years of professional experience as a Data Engineer or Data Architect, preferably within companies that operate web and app products, with a strong emphasis on e-commerce environments.
• Proficiency in SQL, including complex query writing, with experience in tools like dbt and version control systems such as Git.
• Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or Amazon Quicksight.
• Knowledge of data governance, security standards, and compliance regulations, particularly DSGVO (GDPR).
• Excellent communication skills in German (minimum C1 level) and English, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong organisational skills, including experience with project management tools like Jira or Asana, and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Snowflake, and understanding of web and e-commerce data flows.
• A solution-oriented mindset, team-oriented attitude, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive data analyses to support decision-making processes across various departments within the organization.
• Develop and maintain a modern data stack, leveraging Snowflake for data storage, dbt for data modelling, and Amazon Quicksight for reporting and visualisation.
• Integrate data from multiple sources, including point-of-sale systems, sales data, web tracking, and e-commerce platforms, covering the entire customer journey from product listing to payment and usage.
• Act as the primary contact for reporting requirements, ensuring the continuous improvement and expansion of our complex data models.
• Collaborate with internal developers and external partners to empower business teams to make data-driven decisions through tailored reports and dashboards.
• Understand the company's business model and workflows deeply, providing consultative support and insights to colleagues to optimise processes and strategies.
