Senior Water/Wastewater Operations Project Manager

Midwest multi-disciplined engineering firm is looking to add a Senior Water/Wastewater Operations Project Manager to their Naperville team! Responsibilities include coordinating between company, client and contractor, administering Water/Wastewater Start-ups after construction complete, operational reviews of Water/Wastewater Plans during design, visiting/troubleshooting Water/Wastewater Facilities when needed for municipal clients, assisting in Rate Studies, Alternate Water Studies, Capital Improvement Plans, and Asset Management Plans, acting as Responsible Operator in Charge (ROINC) for one or multiple water/wastewater treatment facilities, ensuring regulatory compliance and submitting DMR's to IEPA, directing operators/labors in proper water/wastewater operations, building/maintaining relationships with clients, community organizations, state/local agencies and associations, city management/staff, and the public, being responsible for compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to the water and wastewater systems, providing on-site Municipal staffing assistance to several clients, serving as part-time staff technician to local municipality if needed, preparing/submitting permits for local municipal projects, coordinating work done by other departments for local municipality, reviewing development plans for compliance with local requirements including stormwater management, grading, sanitary sewers, water lines, and transportation, consulting with other reviewers regarding electrical, photometric, and structural issues, assessing the need for permits from other agencies, assessing impacts to on-site and adjacent private and public facilities, making recommendations for improving on-site or adjacent facilities in conjunction with the development, preparing written review reports, responding proactively to inquiries from village staff and officials, developers, designers and adjacent property owners, preparing, documenting, and improving review procedures.

Requirements: A bachelor's degree in an environmentally focused degree program is preferred. 8+ years' experience operating in a water or wastewater treatment facility or related experience. Significant experience in a water/wastewater operations and laboratory procedures. Knowledge of NPDES limits for wastewater quality and wastewater treatment facility regulations. Illinois IEPA Wastewater Treatment Operator's License preferred. Illinois IEPA Water Treatment Operator's License. Ability to explain technical issues to non-technical municipal staff and officials.
