Suncrest Physical Therapy is actively seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) specializing in orthopedic care. This full-time role is based in our state-of-the-art outpatient clinic located in Battle Mountain, Nevada. Work Environment

This position is located on-site at our hospital-affiliated outpatient clinic, where you will interact directly with patients, families, and a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals. Our facility is equipped with advanced therapeutic technologies and a comfortable environment designed to enhance patient engagement and rehabilitation. Working hours are Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a predictable schedule and work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing personalized physical therapy programs tailored to the specific orthopedic needs of patients, guided by a licensed Physical Therapist.
  • Conduct therapeutic exercises, utilize manual therapy techniques, and assist patients with functional mobility training to help restore strength and movement.
  • Monitor patients during therapy sessions, documenting their progress meticulously and reporting any significant changes to the supervising therapist.
  • Educate patients about proper exercise techniques, injury prevention strategies, and recovery processes to empower them in their healing journeys.
  • Effectively use therapeutic modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and heat/cold treatments to augment the rehabilitation experience.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with clinic standards and healthcare regulations, leveraging electronic health records (EHR) systems as needed.
  • Collaborate actively with a diverse rehabilitation team, including therapists, physicians, and administrative staff, to facilitate coordinated and comprehensive patient care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The clinic serves a diverse range of patients, primarily focusing on those with orthopedic injuries and conditions. This includes individuals recovering from surgeries, those suffering from chronic pain, and athletes returning to sports following injury. You will play a pivotal role in helping patients regain mobility, alleviate discomfort, and achieve their rehabilitation goals through specialized care.

Qualifications

  • A valid Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license issued by the state of Nevada.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, enhancing your theoretical foundation and clinical application of physical therapy principles.
  • A strong grasp of orthopedic therapy techniques and protocols pertaining to patient care in an outpatient setting.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
  • Proficient use of electronic health record systems to ensure accurate documentation of patient care.

Preferred Experience

  • A minimum of two years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant, preferably in an orthopedic outpatient environment.
  • Experience with advanced therapeutic modalities and a proven track record of patient education and engagement.
