MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education – High school diploma or equivalent is required. Completion of Medical Assistant program or training received from a Vo-Tech or equivalent is preferred. Experience in lieu of education requirements may be considered. Experience – Three (3) years specific related medical assistant experiences preferred. Experience with digital check-in workflows, Epic/MyChart platforms, or telehealth intake is highly desirable. Licenses & Certification – Valid BLS certification required or must be obtained within 60 days of hire. CMA certification is preferred. Knowledge & Skills – Knowledge of medical terminology used in an acute care health facility. Knowledge of procedure for registering, appointing, and routing patients via electronic patient portals. Skills in organizing and maintaining accurate digital records and documentation. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPPA regulations. Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with virtual patients, clinic staff, and the general public. Ability to learn the digital requisition procedures, MyChart workflows, and acute care protocols of the On-Demand Clinic. Ability to utilize Epic software, personal computers, webcam equipment, and healthcare applications. Ability to maintain a confident, professional, and engaging virtual demeanor. JOB SUMMARY The purpose of the position is to provide medical, administrative, and technological support to patients of the Muscogee Creek Nation department of Health’s On-Demand Telehealth Clinic. Incumbent will manage acute care MyChart patient registration, virtual intake workflows, and clerical tasks. Technical support and guidance are provided by the Clinical Director, Providers, and/or RN care managers/triage nurses. WORK ENVIRONMENT Work is performed in a fast-paced healthcare facility and digital office setting. Working with electronic workstations requires recurring typing, screen viewing, and positioning of digital equipment. Incumbent must be able to cope with constant changes in high-volume, acute care environment. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Work requires long periods of sitting, standing, and walking in the facility. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Satisfactory job performance will be determined by successful execution of the following: Assists the medical provider as directed in the provision of direct and virtual patient care activities for acute care MyChart requests. Maintains accurate and complete digital health records within the Epic system. Performs administrative office, registration, insurance verification, and clerical intake duties to efficiently check-in virtual patients. Guides patients through the virtual intake process, verifying patient identity, providing technical guidance on how to navigate MyChart video visits, obtaining/validating self-reported vital signs, and updating medical histories and current medications. Under the direction of the Medical Staff, carries out required diagnostic and therapeutic protocols necessary in providing adequate acute health care. Under the direction of the Medical Staff, makes calls or sends secure messages to patients to discuss result management and ensures appropriate follow-up care is scheduled. Immediately reports any problems with electronic medical records (EMR) software, hardware, or instruments in the facility to the Clinical Director. Regular attendance is required. Performs other duties as required. Quality, Safety, and Administrative Duties. Participates in quality improvement initiatives related to telehealth efficiency, behavioral health integration, and patient experience. Maintains awareness of referral procedures, Contract Health Services, and community mental health resources. Attending required meetings and training. Comply with all MCNDOH policies, procedures, and professional standards. Maintains regular and reliable attendance. Performs other duties as assigned.
