Lead Groundskeeper

Position: Lead Groundskeeper – Long Beach Amphitheater Department: Operations Reports to: Ground Supervisor Responsibilities Supervise and assign duties to groundskeeper staff. Ensure proper storage, cleaning, and placement of facility event equipment. Streamline groundskeeping operations to reduce turnaround times and meet customer expectations. Work effectively as a team and with other building departments. Perform turf and landscape activities, including in‑field maintenance (dragging, raking, tamping, watering), pruning, and trimming of trees, shrubs, and flowers. Assist with cleaning, setup, and removal of equipment, including during inclement weather. Maintain tools, equipment, and the shop work area. Perform other duties as assigned by Operations Management. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. 1–2 years of janitorial or custodial experience required. Ability to walk and stand for long periods on hard‑surface floors. Ability to work with minimal supervision and understand verbal and written instructions. Knowledge and use of simple hand‑held, manual, and power tools for general maintenance duties. Good leadership and communication skills. Exceptional organizational skills and punctuality. Ability to operate grounds equipment. Ability to lift 50 pounds or more. Physical Demands Regularly move around the facility, stand for long hours during events, talk and hear. May require work inside or outside the building as needed by events. Union Membership: Union membership is a condition of employment.
