Travel Respiratory Therapist - Registered RT/RRT

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a 13-week night shift contract at a Level II Trauma Center with Level III NICU, requiring at least 2 years of experience and Cerner or Epic EMR experience.

Job Details

• Hospital setting at a Level II Trauma Center with Level III NICU and Primary Stroke Center,
• Serves adult general and critical care patients throughout the hospital, with NICU patients for NICU RT positions,
• Patient ratios are dependent on staffing,
• Uses Cerner EMR,
• Uses Omnicell medication dispensing system and Spacelabs monitors,
• Ventilator equipment includes PB 840, PB 980, Drager VN500, LTV, and Airvo,
• 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week, shift starts at 7:00pm,
• Shift times available are 7a-7p and 7p-7a,
• Weekend rotation every other weekend,
• Voluntary on-call schedule,
• Floats to any like unit or patient location, with NICU therapists also working with adult patients,

Job Requirements

• RRT preferred, CRT considered with at least 2 years of experience,
• BLS and NRP required for NICU positions,
• ACLS/APLS preferred,
• Minimum 2 years of experience required, no candidates with only 1 year of experience will be accepted,
• First-time travelers considered with at least 2 years of experience and Cerner or Epic EMR experience,
• Level III NICU experience within the past 12 months required for NICU positions,
• NICU skills including ground transports and Nitric Oxide administration, transport experience preferred,
• Cerner or Epic EMR experience required,
• License required if applicable,

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care services across adult general and critical care units, or NICU depending on position,
• Candidates new to the facility or returning after 1+ years away receive 24 hours of classroom orientation and 24 hours on the unit,
• Rehire orientation depends on last date worked at the facility,
• Holiday coverage includes one major and one minor seasonal holiday per policy,
• Up to 7 days of time off can be pre-approved, excluding blackout dates,
• Scrubs may be any color except bright or neon colors,
• Free parking available in a parking deck,
• Candidates must live outside a 60-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted,
• Former perm staff must wait 6 months before being considered as a traveler
