Job Title: Safety Specialist
Job Description

The Safety & Health Specialist will support the EHS Department and EHS Manager with the goal of achieving an accident-free workforce and continuous improvement toward world-class safety. This role involves serving as an expert in health and safety disciplines, helping to develop and administer safety and health programs, and ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze company safety practices by conducting audits and determine recommendations based on these audits.
• Report audit findings to upper management.
• Collect and maintain essential data for effective safety programs.
• Maintain an understanding of various safety programs, including lockout tagout, hazard communication, and hearing conservation.
• Assist with keeping accurate and complete records of training, inspections, audits, and required regulatory documentation.
• Educate, motivate, and train team members in safety best practices, rules, and procedures.
• Aid and support the development and implementation of plant programs for the identification, prevention, and control of occupational injuries and illnesses.
• Organize and administer required refresher and new hire trainings.
• Participate in and conduct accident and incident investigations.
• Assist with company safety manual development and maintenance.
• Proactively address and correct all unsafe behaviors and conditions.
• Cross-train with Environmental Specialist to share responsibilities and cover absences.

• Proficiency in OSHA 29 CFR 1910 standards.
• Experience in safety training and conducting investigations.
• Knowledge of arc flash safety and overhead crane operations.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to develop corrective action plans.

• Manufacturing experience is required.
• Outgoing personality, capable of correcting safety behaviors.
• Preferred: BS Degree in a safety-related field.
• Forklift training and electrical knowledge are advantageous.

The work environment includes a forging setting with an expectation to be on the floor over 50% of the time for safety walks and problem-solving. The environment can be hot and dirty. The standard work schedule is 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work to support inventory activities. You will work with a small team, including a manager and an Environmental Specialist, in a stable manufacturing business.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Georgetown, KY.

The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $60000.00/yr.

Health, dental, vision, 401k, PTO/holiday.

This is a fully onsite position in Georgetown,KY.

This position is anticipated to close on Jun 30, 2026.
