Job Overview Psychologist – Additional Position (Health Facility – Clinical – Safety) at the Department of State Hospitals – Atascadero. This is a limited term/temporary appointment for current State civil service employees. Responsibilities Complete Admission Psychological Assessment (APA) for patients to delineate and clarify psychiatric and psychological diagnoses. Conduct intellectual and cognitive assessments of patients when clinically indicated. Conduct psychological assessments. Create and monitor behavioral interventions. Provide timely feedback to patients, results of psychological assessments and evaluations, and complete appropriate documentation. Working Conditions May require periodic work behind the Secured Treatment Area (STA). Limited term; expires on 9/28/2026 but can be ended at any time. Minimum Requirements Classification: Psychologist (Health Facility – Clinical – Safety) (9873). Minimum salary $62.36–$76.57 per hour for new to state candidates. Current CA Board of Psychology license; provide copy prior to hire. Pass drug screening, background investigation, and medical clearance.
