REPORTS TO: Director of Facilities

General Duties

PHYSICAL DEMANDS. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• Clean and sanitize washrooms including sinks, commodes, and urinals
• Maintain soap and towel dispensers
• Hand dryers
• Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs, and moving of the whole body, such as:
• Washroom stalls
• Clean and sanitize locker rooms
• Clean classrooms
• Sweep floors; mop as needed
• Use hands to finger, handle, or feel
• Empty garbage and dispose of properly
• Reach with hands and arms
• Wipe down student desks
• Climb or balance
• Wipe down whiteboards
• Talk and hear
• Empty pencil sharpeners
• Occasional sitting
• Mop and buff corridors
• Perform heavy physical labor frequently
• Vacuum carpets moving and/or lifting 50 lbs.
• Remove gum and scuff marks
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception
• Clean windows and glass in doors
• Daily upkeep of grounds
• Grooming, sweeping, and upkeep of artificial turf fields
• Painting
• Moving mechanical parts
• Vehicle upkeep
• Operate snow removal equipment including shovels, snow blowers, plows
• Outside weather conditions
• Wet and/or humid conditions
• Fumes or airborne particles
• Toxic or caustic chemicals
• Help set up rooms for special programs
• Help prepare athletic areas inside and outside for use
• Help clean up and prepare fields and gyms for normal use after events
• Attend safety meetings and training sessions as required
• Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
• Ability to complete the following trainings as required:
• GCN Trainings
• Lock out tag out
• Fall arrest
• SDS
• Asbestos and lead identification
• Ladder safety
• Familiar with equipment involved with custodial duties
• Emergency evacuation
• In-house OSHA and respirator training
• Operate floor scrubber
• Wet-dry pickup
• Proper use of dust mops, microfiber cleaning equipment
• Mop floors
• Knowledge of industry standards

BREAKS: Per collective bargaining agreement. Times may vary when necessary.
