Why This Role Rocks As an Analytics Engineer II, you’ll own the design, build, and performance of enterprise analytics in Microsoft Fabric and Power BI. You’ll create trusted semantic models, define governed metrics, and deliver high-impact reporting that powers smarter decisions across the business. You’ll work closely with the BI Product Owner and Data Engineering team to shape scalable, reliable analytics—while building assets that enable true self-service for your stakeholders. What’s On Your Plate Design, build, and maintain domain-aligned semantic models in Power BI / Fabric Develop business metrics using DAX, including complex measures and calculation groups Apply dimensional modeling best practices for performance, usability, and consistency Own data governance: RLS, dataset certification, and access controls Build and support high-impact Power BI reports and apps Troubleshoot issues across models and reports (performance, refresh, logic) Partner with Data Engineering to shape analytics-ready data models Monitor performance, reliability, and usage of analytics assets Contribute to CI/CD processes (Git, PBIP, deployment pipelines) Enable self-service analytics through certified datasets and reusable assets Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and validate outcomes Your Recipe for Success HS or GED required, Bachelors in Computer Science or related preferred, experience can be considered in lieu of degree 4–6 years of experience in Analytics Engineering, BI, or advanced Power BI roles Required Certifications: DP-600 (Fabric Analytics Engineer) and PL-300 (Power BI Data Analyst)Proven ownership of production semantic models and governed metrics Strong expertise in DAX, dimensional modeling, and performance optimization Experience delivering production‑grade analytics solutions used by the business Solid SQL and data modeling skills Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Fabric / Power BI ecosystem (DP-600 aligned) Experience with Git and CI/CD practices Experience with Fabric (Lakehouse, Warehouse, Direct Lake) preferred Familiarity with product‑oriented analytics teams preferred Experience with tools like Tabular Editor preferred Why You’ll Love Your Job As our founder Kent Taylor said, “We’re a people‑first company that just happens to serve steaks.” We believe in taking care of the whole Roadie: from professional development opportunities to a robust benefits package.
