Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Woodland, California.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 10/27/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Oct 27, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift acute care position requiring 2+ years of ICU experience and CA RN licensure.Details\n \n 8-bed ICU in an acute care hospital setting\n Primarily medical ICU diagnoses\n Patient ratios of 1:1-2\n Uses Cerner EMR\n Charge nurse generally does not take patients but assists with break relief\n Nurse aides available based on census and staffing needs\n 12-hour night shifts, 7pm-7:30am, with bedside report\n Every other weekend required\n Rotates in with core staff for holiday coverage\n First to float, including to sister facilities and the MedSurg unit at Woodland (up to 4 patients)\n Mid-shift floating to another facility is rare but possible\n Self-scheduling used, finalized by manager, with schedules posted 4 weeks out\n Floor-specific orientation includes 1-2 days with a preceptor\n Hospitalist/Intensivist, Respiratory Therapy, and Pharmacy available 24/7\n Telemetry monitoring required, including EKG strip interpretation\n Ventilator management required\n No dedicated IV team\n Requirements\n \n Active CA RN license (Standard or Compact) currently in hand\n Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS (AHA)\n Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required\n BSN not required for this position\n Cerner EMR experience preferred\n 2 professional references required: one supervisor reference from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor reference from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and rehire eligibility\n Copy of driver's license required for consideration\n No prior direct employment (full-time, part-time, or PRN) with any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year\n Additional Information\n \n Provide direct patient care in a medical ICU with a horseshoe unit layout\n PACU is adjacent to the ICU\n Good fit for a candidate with foundational ICU experience\n Must pass the Relias Dysrhythmia exam prior to confirmed offer, with two attempts allowed within 24-48 hours\n Relias Dysrhythmia exam results from within the last 12 months may be accepted if previously completed\n Sterile technique competency test for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes administered on first day of orientation\n Failing the second attempt of the Relias exam and/or sterile technique test results in ineligibility with CommonSpirit Sacramento region and Arizona facilities for 6 months\n Scrub color is navy, with undershirts in navy, white, or black; scrub jackets optional and must be navy if worn\n Travelers will work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's), with final scheduling determined by management\n Holiday time off requests will be considered but not guaranteed\n First-time travelers welcome to apply\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-759926.
