Paraprofessional - Kindergarten/2nd Grade

Overview Paraprofessional – Kindergarten through 2nd grade Monday - Friday. 7:30am to 4:00pm. Hourly: $16.50-$17.50/hr. Location Detroit Service Learning Academy. Redford Service Learning Academy. Summary Responsible for ensuring a safe, nurturing, high-quality educational environment for program children and families while maintaining documentation of services provided. Essential Functions (Works w/ Lead Teacher in) Set up and maintain a safe, healthy, developmentally appropriate learning environment. Complete and execute daily lesson plans based on individual children's needs. Maintain program documentation on children and families. Support and encourage parent involvement through parent day activities, field trips, volunteer opportunities, conferences, and home visits. Document and communicate children's progress using the Child Observation Record (COR). Training, knowledge, experience and certification(s) required. High School diploma required. Must meet the State of Michigan requirements for being a Title 1 paraprofessional with either 60 college credits completed in any subject or a passing score on the ETS ParaPro Assessment. Experience working in a school or with elementary experience is required. Physical Requirements Able to lift 15 pounds to carry, push and/or pull items.
