IT Support Technician (Entry-Level)

Position Summary

We are seeking an Entry-Level IT Support Technician to join our IT support team. This role will assist with the setup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of desktop computers, laptops, tablets, and related IT equipment. The successful candidate will work closely with end users to schedule system upgrades and replacements, resolve technical issues, and ensure a high level of customer service while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.

This position reports directly to the IT Supervisor and may be assigned additional duties as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot desktop computers, laptops, tablets, and peripheral devices.
• Assist users with hardware, software, operating system, and application-related issues.
• Coordinate with employees to schedule computer upgrades, replacements, and repairs.
• Install, update, and troubleshoot Windows operating systems and desktop applications.
• Provide support for Microsoft Office products, Adobe applications, web browsers, and other business software.
• Diagnose and resolve networking and connectivity issues.
• Maintain accurate records of support activities and completed work.
• Handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
• Follow established IT policies, procedures, and security standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Less than two (2) years of IT support experience.
• Basic understanding of Windows operating systems and desktop support.
• Knowledge of computer hardware, laptops, tablets, peripherals, and software installation.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, Adobe products, and common web browsers.
• Understanding of TCP/IP networking concepts, IP addressing, DNS, and basic network troubleshooting.
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Preferred Qualifications

• CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, or other recognized IT certifications.
• 1–2 years of hands-on IT support experience in a professional environment.
• Experience supporting users in a Windows-based network environment.

Work Schedule

• Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Occasional overtime may be required based on business needs.

Physical Requirements

• Work in a technical support and repair environment alongside other IT team members.
• Sit or stand for extended periods while working on computers and related equipment.
• Periodically walk throughout office and laboratory facilities to provide technical support.
• Transport, move, and install standard office computer equipment as needed.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds without assistance.
