- Provide comprehensive treatments to patients under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, according to MA state practice guidelines
- Assist in identifying appropriate patients and referring them to rehab accordingly
- Document patient participation and progress in an accurate and timely fashion, and obtain the co-signature of the Physical Therapist
- Ensure MD orders are obtained for treatments, recertifications, and discharges
- Assist with other documentation requirements as indicated and according to state guidelines
- Attend facility and rehab meetings as needed
- Act as a rehab delegate to the interdisciplinary team
- Participate in scheduling of patients as needed
- Complete billing and bill patients ethically and accurately for physical therapy services rendered
- Cover other therapists' patient caseload during absence as necessary
- Supervise junior PTA staff members or students as needed
- Maintain a professional relationship with co-workers, facility staff, patients, and patient families
- Provide in-service education regarding patient care or physical therapy services to rehab staff, facility staff, hospitals, and/or community as needed
- Comply with all facility and safety policies and procedures
- Report to work on time, adhere to scheduled hours, and project a professional image at all times
- Graduate of an accredited university with a BA or Associates degree in Physical Therapy recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)
- Holds current license and/or registration in the state of Massachusetts
- Ability to transfer patients, lift weights, transport patients, and perform treatment on the mat
