Personal Banker II

The Personal BankerIIposition is primarily responsible for managing and growing an assigned portfolio of retail customers consisting of basic to the most complex relationships. This position performs a variety of customer services such as opening new checking, savings, certificate, and safe deposit accounts, closing deposit accounts and answering questions from existing and prospective customers, to cross-sell bank’s products and services. The position is also responsible for performing a variety of customer services such as receiving and processing deposits, and payments for individual and business accounts and answering questions from existing customers. Work is varied in nature with changing priorities. Incumbent applies advanced knowledge of bank products and services to work performed, under limited supervision and in compliance with established policies, procedures and regulations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Majority of duties, but not meant to be all inclusive nor prevent other duties from being assigned as necessary) Welcomes and interviews customers and prospects to acquire information and define financial needs; recommends deposit products such as timedeposits, savings, and checking for both retail and commercial deposit customers along with additional deposit services, to meet their financial needs. Ensures all documentation required for account opening, or any customer information change is accurate and obtained for record keeping. Enters request for new or replacement debit cards. Assist customers with ACH, POS/ATM disputes. Assist customers with check and ACH stop payments. Redeems Savings Bonds. Sells, prepares, and signs cashier’s checks and loan disbursement checks within prescribed limits. Closes accounts when required. Follows all required procedures for check handling and check signing within approved limits. Reviews overdraft report for assigned customer portfolio and approves overdrafts up to authorized limit. Manages an existing portfolio with continued growth of existing relationships and the addition of new relationships. Services existing consumer loan relationship by providing information customer inquiries. Provides customer services such as responding to customer inquiries regarding account information (e.g., account balance, check clearance, etc.). Print account history and may assist customer in balancing statement. Researches and resolves problems, initiates and follows up research requests and may refund fees when appropriate. Provides customers money bags and product information; participates in business development program through aggressive cross-sell efforts to established and prospective consumer, commercial customers. Provides customers with notary services and other non-bank services. Refers customers to appropriate providers throughout the Corporation for additional needs such as investments, mortgage lending, commercial lending, etc. Works with Marketing and other sales personnel to capitalize on cross selling opportunities. Communicates with people inside and outside the corporation to exchange information and/or provide customer service. May fill in for the position of Teller III during staffing emergencies (see Teller III job description for details). May perform additional duties as deemed necessary by management. #J-18808-Ljbffr
