Per Diem Retail Staff Pharmacist in Tucson, AZ

This opportunity is for experienced retail pharmacists seeking a per diem role supporting a team across multiple pharmacy locations in the Tucson area. The focus is on maintaining smooth pharmacy operations within grocery and food store settings, handling prescription volume, and providing professional medication services.


Locations include several pharmacies across the Tucson area, each operating Monday through Saturday with typical hours of 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and some closing as late as 8 p.m. The selected pharmacists will provide flexible coverage for call-outs, vacation relief, and demand spikes, ideally working part-time with availability for 2-4 days per week.


Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently in a retail setting
• Provide patient counseling and support medication adherence
• Collaborate with pharmacy technicians and other staff; some sites operate pharmacist-only, requiring independent workflow and decision-making
• Manage immunizations and maintain certification compliance (immunization privilege and BLS certification required)
• Participate in scheduled training sessions to ensure readiness across multiple sites
• Utilize QS1 pharmacy software for daily operations

Desired Qualifications:

• 1 to 2+ years of retail pharmacy experience preferred
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to adapt to variable hours and flexible scheduling needs
• Immunization privilege and current BLS certification
• Willingness to complete training to work efficiently in a multi-pharmacist support team
• Familiarity with QS1 software is a plus
