Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team, focusing on the care of adult and geriatric patients, primarily those diagnosed with acute leukemia. This position involves providing comprehensive nursing care in a unit dedicated to managing newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients.

Shift Information

• Rotating schedule of 12-hour shifts, both days and nights.
• 3 shifts per week, with variability based on unit needs.
• Assignments are reviewed every 4 weeks, with changes based on staffing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
• Adhere to infection prevention protocols and implement patient falls prevention strategies.
• Monitor patient conditions and respond to acute situations, utilizing rapid response teams as needed.
• Manage telemetry monitoring, including interpretation of dysrhythmias.
• Administer blood products and manage intravenous (IV) therapy, including central and peripheral line care.
• Provide care for feeding tubes and conduct phlebotomy as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of overall acute care nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a progressive care unit (PCU).
• Experience with adult and geriatric patient populations.
• Required certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support).
• Preferred certifications: ONS Chemotherapy Certification and NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale).

Skills Required

• Experience in telemetry and MS/Tele nursing.
• Proficient in the use of computerized charting systems, particularly EPIC.
• Ability to start IVs and manage PICC lines.
