About the Position

TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified ICU/Critical Care RN in Shreveport, Louisiana, 71115!

Job Title: Registered Nurse - ICU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 1 year of acute care RN experience License: Required state nursing license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Traveler will be required to pass an EKG competency exam prior to arrival. Experience in art line management, central line management, EVD drains, and chest tubes. Comfortable with floating to Med-Surg with 1:5-6 ratios. Description: Position Type: ICU RN Beds: 20 Patient Types: Critically ill medical, surgical, cardiac, and neuro patients. Examples of diagnoses include STEMI, respiratory distress, sepsis, hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke, diabetic ketoacidosis, and post-surgical patients. Adequate PPE will be provided. Patient Ratios: RN 1:2, CNA 1-2 per shift. Charge nurse may have patient assignment. Phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, and respiratory therapy support will be available on site. Hospitalists will be available 24/7. Charting System: EMR using Meditech Expanse, IV Pumps using Alaris, and medication dispensing using Pyxis. Weekends: Every other weekend rotation. Schedule will include a requirement of 4 days one week and 3 days the next week. Mandatory to work 2-3 holidays during the contract period. Scrub colors will be pewter; acceptable t-shirt colors are gray, white, or black. Jackets must be gray or black. Badges must be worn above the waist and in full view at all times.
