Shift: 7:00am - 7:00pm Location: Singing River Pascagoula Hospital Job Summary The Monitor Technician assists in patient care by monitoring all patients on cardiac telemetry units; identifies rhythms, changes, and dysrhythmias; maintains communication with nursing staff; and reports to the charge nurse. All duties are performed in accordance with Singing River Health System procedures, policies, and accreditation guidelines. Responsibilities Monitor all patients on cardiac telemetry units and identify rhythm changes and dysrhythmias. Communicate with nursing staff and report findings to the charge nurse. Ensure all duties align with company procedures, policies, and accreditation requirements. Perform additional tasks as assigned by management. Requirements High school graduate or equivalent. Desirable completion of a medical terminology course. Successful completion of a basic EKG course with the ability to identify rhythms and arrhythmias. Maintain BCLS certification upon hire and/or transfer. Preferred 2 years medical clinical operations experience. Proficiency with computer equipment, Microsoft products, and digital medical records. Physical Demands Work is moderately active, requiring frequent movement, the ability to operate standard office equipment, and the capability to perceive auditory and visual cues at normal levels. Ability to work scheduled shifts and adapt to schedule changes is required. Mental Demands Requires assessment and decision-making during crisis situations, clear communication (verbal and written), emotional stability, the ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, multitask, and maintain collaborative relationships.
