Material Handler II – PaintLocation: Richmond, VAWhat you will be responsible for in this role:Loading/unloading all metal parts required for daily fabrication at the paint line.Complete daily activities in the work area to ensure daily production goals are met.Assisting in the identification of parts and part descriptions using work order information.Developing and maintaining the highest quality standard – zero defects. Works continuously to improve all areas.Promoting and maintaining a safe work environment.Understanding all basic safety procedures and setting an example for proper use of all safety equipment and apparel.Completing and participating in all training to include manufacturing practices, quality practices, and safety procedures.Communication of job status between shifts and continuation of work in progress.Quickly and effectively shifts gears to meet changing business requirements.Helps establish continuous improvement processes that result in the most effective use of all resources, reducing costs, and improving quality.What are the basic qualifications?High School Diploma or GEDMust have a minimum of 12 months experienceKnowledge and understanding of manufacturing processesDemonstrated strong and effective communication skillsMust be able to reach with hands and armsMust be able to sit, stoop, and/or kneelMust regularly lift and/or move up to 50 poundsBe able to stand and walk for the majority of the work dayTo be a great fit for the role:Organizational and time management skills.Team oriented individual who is flexible and adaptable to an ever-changing, fast paced and complex environment.Ability to plan and organize and to set priorities in order to meet deadlines and ensure customer satisfactionBasic knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPointStrong written and verbal communication skillsMust be able to follow instructions and exercise good judgment.Knowledge to troubleshoot causes of operating errors and decide the best course of action to fix.Must have ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks efficiently.Must have good teamwork and communication skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.Must be able to work with machine operators, mechanics, contractors, drivers and/or vendors.Occasional extended hours are required.Must have a positive attitude.What is in it for you?Medical, Dental, and Vision401k Retirement PlanFlexible SpendingPaid HolidaysPay Range: USD 16.50 - 20.60 HourlyThis position is eligible to earn commissions based on performance metrics and other criteria outlined in our applicable commissions plan.Dover Food Retail is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
