2026 Internship, Summer – Control Room Operations About the Team Red Bull New York (“RBNY”) are one of 30 teams in Major League Soccer (MLS) and one of the league’s ten original charter clubs. Founded in 1996, RBNY has competed in MLS since its inception. RBNY’s First Team plays its home matches at Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison, New Jersey and its Second Team plays its home matches at Montclair State University. RBNY is owned by the Austrian beverage company Red Bull GmbH, after which the team is named. RBNY’s First Team is a three‑time MLS Supporters’ Shield winner and a two‑time Conference Champion, while the Second Team is the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro Champion. RBNY also operates one of the nation’s premier youth soccer development programs, spanning local partnerships across New York and New Jersey. RBNY’s Academy is ranked among the top development organizations in the country. Purpose of this Internship The Control Room Internship is designed to provide experience to college students pursuing a career in live production within a sports organization. Interns focus on creating an exciting fan experience for all Red Bull New York home matches and other events held at Sports Illustrated Stadium. Interns learn about live production, equipment operation, content creation, and other aspects of match presentation. Interns report directly to the Event Production Coordinator and work collaboratively with stakeholders across the organization. During the internship, students are involved in all stages of production of all events at Sports Illustrated Stadium. This is an unpaid, for credit internship (proof that you will receive credit is required). Responsibilities Assist full‑time control room staff with completing checklist items in preparation for each event. Work with Daktronics, Sony, DiGiCo, Chyron, Click Effects, and Evertz equipment in a live control room. Assist in organizing and creating content for stadium video boards and LED ribbon boards. Actively participate in the planning stage, preparation, and execution of events. Learn to troubleshoot video, audio, and other signal flow issues. Understand the process of setup, breakdown, and storage of broadcast equipment after various events. Experience and Qualifications Experience working with Adobe Suite or other similar editing software. Currently pursuing a degree in Production, Digital Media, Sports Management, or related fields. Knowledge of pre‑production, production, and post‑production processes. Strong work ethic, leadership approach, and strong improvisational skills. Must be eligible to receive college credit. Ideal for someone with a strong interest in behind‑the‑camera live event production. While a strong interest in soccer and sports is not required, it is most definitely a plus!
