Position Summary Installs, maintains, repairs, or replaces mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, plumbing, refrigeration, structural, and heating equipment and systems by performing the following duties. Essential Functions Repair and maintain pumps, furnaces, boilers, and motors. Install and maintain electrical circuits, refrigeration equipment and systems, HVAC equipment, and commercial kitchen equipment. Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems accurately. Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments. Repair or replace defective parts. Use appropriate hand and power tools to repair equipment, furnishings, appliances, and systems. Read diagrams to perform installations, repairs, etc. on equipment and systems. Read and interpret work orders. Repair and install roof materials. Hang and finish sheetrock. Paint interior and exterior surfaces. Fabricate items from wood and metal. Weld metal with either gas or electric. Clean drains and replace sections of waste lines. Install new water lines, repair water service, firefighting lines, and hydrants. Install and repair locks. Operate construction equipment such as bobcats, backhoes, and aerial lifts. Other duties may be assigned. Qualifications & Requirements To perform this job, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ethical Conduct Confidentiality Time Management Project Management Initiative and Problem Solving Technical Capacity Attention to Detail Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Education / Experience Associate degree or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school; or 2‑3 years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Good working knowledge of electricity, plumbing, steam, mechanical systems, and HVAC. Licenses / Certificates Ability to train for and receive necessary certifications, i.e., EPA section 608 certification. Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record. Physical Demands The employee will regularly stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, and work from ladders, scaffolds, and moving equipment. Frequent lifting or moving of items over 50 pounds is required. Work Environment The employee will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, and occasionally extreme conditions. Noise levels can be loud. Position Type & Hours of Work This is a full‑time position, Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., 40 hours per week. It is an on‑call after‑hours position.
