Histology Manager

Noetik seeks an experienced Histology Manager to lead tissue sample preparation operations and team development. The role combines technical expertise in histology with operational leadership, overseeing FFPE processing, sectioning, and staining workflows while building and mentoring a high-performing team in a fast-paced biotech environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day histology operations including FFPE reembedding, sectioning, staining, and tissue processing
- Establish and maintain quality standards across all histology workflow steps; troubleshoot technical issues
- Evaluate and implement new equipment, consumables, automation technologies to scale operations
- Manage, mentor, and develop histology team members with clear expectations and career development
- Partner with downstream assay teams to ensure appropriate tissue preparation and communicate capacity constraints
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in biological sciences, histotechnology, or related field
- Extensive hands-on experience in FFPE tissue preparation and sectioning
- Expertise sectioning diverse human tissue types, including challenging specimens
- Strong understanding of histology workflows, artifacts, and troubleshooting capabilities
- Experience managing histology teams in research or clinical settings
- Proven ability to establish quality standards and improve laboratory operations
