Maintenance Director

Role Description The Maintenance Director is a full-time, on-site role based in Macedonia Ohio. This role oversees all aspects of building maintenance, repairs, and safety for the senior living community, ensuring a clean, functional, and well-maintained environment for residents and team members. Day-to-day tasks include managing preventative maintenance programs, coordinating and performing repairs in areas such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC, and monitoring building systems and equipment. The Maintenance Director supervises maintenance and housekeeping staff, assigns work orders, ensures timely completion of tasks, and collaborates with community leadership on budgeting, vendor management, and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This role also responds to maintenance emergencies, supports life safety initiatives, and helps promote a safe, resident-centered environment. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong facility management and maintenance management skills to oversee building systems, preventative maintenance, and compliance. Candidates should possess maintenance and repair skills, including general carpentry and basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC troubleshooting. Candidates should possess supervisory skills to lead maintenance staff, delegate tasks, and support scheduling and performance management. Relevant experience in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or multifamily housing facility operations is beneficial. Knowledge of building codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements, including life safety and emergency preparedness, is preferred. Ability to work on-site, respond to urgent maintenance issues, and perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and using tools and equipment. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interact professionally with residents, families, and colleagues. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training, trade certifications, or related licenses (e.g., HVAC, electrical) are a plus. #J-18808-Ljbffr Sonida Senior Living
