Vice President, Associate General Counsel

The Organization Arrowhead Credit Union is a federally chartered not‑for‑profit financial cooperative serving 235,000 members across 20 branches. The Role Reporting to the EVP, Chief Legal Counsel, the Vice President, Associate General Counsel is an internal leader, partner, and resource. This role delivers a broad range of general and credit union‑specific legal services in support of the organization’s business plan and strategic direction. Maintains awareness of legal issues, regulatory compliance, and emerging risks. Develops and implements contract review guidelines and standard vendor contracts. Reviews third‑party contracts, marketing collateral, and ensures regulatory compliance. Serves as liaison between the Credit Union and insurance carriers, supervising claims submission. Monitors industry trends, disseminates information to Executive / Leadership Team. Assesses insurance coverage and manages in‑house claims cases. Engages outside counsel for specialized matters and recommends partners. Provides legal advice to internal departments including Marketing, Human Resources, Audit/Compliance, Branches, Lending, Loan Servicing, Collections, Philanthropy, and Community Impact. Advises on property‑related matters such as new construction, repairs, leases, and maintenance. Provides feedback on compliance with policies, bylaws, and Board guidelines. Assists with development and review of Credit Union policies and procedures. Develops and delivers educational presentations for Boards and Leadership teams. Exemplifies proactive learning and professional development. Provides feedback to improve department processes. Maintains required licenses and continuing education. Performs any other duties assigned by leadership.
