Scope of Position: The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center's mission is to improve health in Ohio and across the world through innovation in research, education, and patient care. The team provides patient care and supportive services directed towards achievement of positive patient care outcomes, maximizing the patient's involvement in his/her own plan of care and reducing the length of hospitalization, The staff nurse plays a critical role in staff engagement, the patient experience, quality and safety, and cost-effective care.

Position Summary: The Staff Nurse is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and his/her family, and for directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. The Staff Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating and evaluating the nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2- year College Degree in Nursing from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited nursing program is required.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing with a major in Nursing from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited nursing program is preferred.
• Current Ohio license or interim permit required.
• 2 years of experience in relevant care setting is preferred.

On-going: Maintains current Ohio RN license. Meets mandatory educational and health requirements. Demonstrates computer skills required to meet job functions.

Unit Description: The Gastroenterology & Endoscopy Unit is a modern facility specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of digestive disorders. With 8 procedure rooms, the unit serves over 60 inpatients and outpatients daily. Dedicated prep and recovery areas support safe, efficient patient flow and comfort throughout the care process. Our expert multidisciplinary team delivers high-quality, coordinated care using the latest endoscopic technologies.
