Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead large-scale pipeline construction projects from preconstruction and planning through field execution and closeout. This position will carry overall responsibility for major projects valued above $10 million, including project planning, estimating and bid support, scheduling, resource coordination, financial performance, client communication, safety, quality, change management, and successful delivery. The role may be performed remotely, with preference for candidates located near company operations in Colorado, Oklahoma, or Texas.

The ideal candidate brings direct pipeline construction project management experience and has successfully managed substantial, complex projects with significant field activity. This position requires a Project Manager who can balance commercial and financial accountability with field execution, maintain strong relationships with clients and project teams, and remain actively engaged at the project site. Regular travel is required, with an expectation of spending approximately two weeks per month on active project sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead major pipeline construction projects through planning, execution, monitoring, completion, and closeout while maintaining accountability for overall project performance.
• Develop and manage project plans, schedules, estimates, budgets, forecasts, and resource requirements to support successful execution.
• Oversee project financial performance, including cost tracking, profitability, forecasting, change management, and communication of financial results.
• Coordinate labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and other project resources to maintain schedule and production requirements.
• Maintain regular involvement with field operations through site visits, progress reviews, inspections, and coordination with project leadership.
• Manage client relationships throughout the project, communicating progress, resolving issues, addressing changes, and maintaining alignment with contractual and operational expectations.
• Oversee project safety and quality expectations while coordinating with field teams to ensure work is executed in accordance with project requirements and applicable standards.
• Evaluate bid packages and project requirements, contribute to detailed estimating and proposal development, and support the transition from preconstruction into field execution.

Requirements

• Demonstrated project management experience within pipeline construction, including direct responsibility for projects valued above $10 million.
• Strong understanding of pipeline construction operations and the field resources, sequencing, scheduling, and coordination required to execute major projects.
• Experience managing project financials, including budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, profitability, and change orders.
• Ability to manage projects across both field and client-facing functions, coordinating effectively with field leadership, customers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Willingness and ability to travel regularly to active project sites, with an expected onsite commitment of approximately two weeks per month.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project locations as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's or technical degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
• Experience managing mainline or long-distance transmission pipeline construction projects.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project scheduling or project management software such as Microsoft Project.
