Junior Metallurgist

About this position We are currently seeking a Junior Metallurgist to support our mine operations located near the Thousand Islands, Lake Ontario shoreline, and Adirondack Mountains. The company owns a group of 100%-owned high‑grade zinc mines in St. Lawrence County, New York, and works on near‑mine and district exploration as well as the Kilbourne Graphite Project. We emphasize operational excellence, prudent growth, and sustainable development. Duties and Responsibilities Manage quality assurance/quality control for the assay lab and mill operations. Monitor the mill process to maintain or increase production. Identify and troubleshoot issues in the production process. Provide technical assistance to operators, millwrights, and lab technicians. Run tests on new ore bodies and chemicals to obtain optimal recoveries. Maintain assay lab chemical inventory. Design and supervise plant sampling surveys and analyze data to recommend changes using sound engineering principles. Compile daily metallurgical reports. Maintain current knowledge of industry practice, innovation, and technological change. Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, including safety, environmental, confidentiality, and code of conduct. Exercise discretion and judgment in all job performance tasks. Perform other reasonable duties as needed. Qualifications Degree in Metallurgy, Mineral Processing, or Chemical Engineering. Understanding of mineral processing techniques such as flotation, gravity separation, and magnetic separation. Proficient in interpreting data and performance metrics. At least 3 years of hands‑on experience in a mining or metallurgical environment.
