Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator

Location: 2 N 2nd St, Battle Mountain, NV 89820

Duration: 3+ months

PR: $26.00 - 28.00/hr on W2

The Heavy Equipment Operator plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of mobile equipment used for excavating, delivering, and processing materials within mining or industrial environments. This position requires proficiency in handling crushers, conveyor feed systems, and various machinery while performing routine maintenance and safety checks. The operator works closely with the Mill Shift Boss and other teams to maintain product quality and equipment reliability.

 

Responsibilities

• Provide properly blended feed for mills by excavating and delivering feed material according to specified ratios.
• Start and operate mill crude ore feeding, crushing, and conveying systems.
• Perform pre-operation equipment checks and operate mobile equipment safely and cost-effectively.
• Maintain awareness of wear parts, lubrication, and fuel levels on equipment.
• Monitor overall mechanical condition of equipment, complete Equipment Checklist Forms, and report urgent repair needs promptly.
• Fill oil, coolant, and fuel reservoirs to appropriate levels on mobile equipment.
• Monitor and report potential issues with stacking equipment.
• Comply with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and company procedures, reporting hazards and incidents immediately.
• Participate in required training programs related to ISO/API standards, safety, and job hazard awareness.

 

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated proficiency in operating assigned mobile equipment including maneuvers and operator maintenance duties.
• Experience and clear understanding of crusher-conveyor feed systems, start-up sequences, and operating parameters.
• Familiarity with ore delivery routines, pile storage for varying ore types, and stacking-storage as well as plant feeding operations.
• Ability to perform thorough pre-operation checks and report mechanical issues effectively.
• Commitment to performing duties safely and in accordance with environmental and regulatory standards.
