Behavior Technician (BT) / Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

Job Type: Full‑time (Non‑Exempt) Compensation: $20–$23 per hour Position Summary Are you passionate about transforming the lives of children and families? Ready to build a career in ABA therapy but unsure how to gain experience? Join Bierman Autism Centers as a Behavior Technician/ABA Therapist and provide life‑changing therapy to children aged 2‑12 with autism or other developmental delays. You will deliver individualized 1:1 sessions focused on natural play, teaching foundational skills such as self‑advocacy and communication, while working in a supportive team environment. Daily Responsibilities Conduct 1:1 ABA therapy sessions with clients. Follow prescribed skill acquisition and behavior support plans. Collect and record data and write therapy notes for each session. Communicate with parents and caregivers regarding client progress (with guidance from the BCBA). Assist the BCBA in preparing and organizing client materials. Maintain and acquire functional and technical knowledge by attending required trainings. Follow the guidelines set forth by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). Work toward becoming a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) if not already credentialed. Foster a positive working environment and support team cohesion. Basic & Essential Functions (RBT) Lift and carry clients weighing at least 30 pounds. Restrain, hold, transport, and utilize swift body movements as instructed in the Behavior Support Plan. Maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crouching, crawling, sitting, standing, bending) for extended periods. Walk and run to chase clients while maintaining a three‑foot distance. Attend to basic client needs such as feeding, diapering, toileting, and dressing. Operate computer and electronic devices for data collection and session documentation. Read and comprehend written communication via computer, electronic devices, and paper. Transfer written data to electronic files or database systems. Work on a computer for prolonged periods while seated at a desk or on the floor. Assemble, clean, and maintain therapy space including toys and furniture. Administer medication to clients (as directed). Job Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent (College degree preferred). Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks. Detail oriented. Flexible and adaptable to meet team and client needs. Act with integrity and professionalism. Preferred Experience Experience working with children aged 2‑12 in settings such as classrooms, day care, 1:1, or instructional childcare. Experience implementing principles of Applied Behavior Analysis; background in Education or Allied Health preferred.
