Job Description Muskegon Community College Muskegon Community College is a center for lifelong learning thathelps people attain their educational goals by offering programsthat respond to individual, community, and global needs. MCC is anassociate degree-granting institution of higher education and anapplied technology leader for high-tech, hands-on training. With nearly a 100-year history of academic excellence, MCC is apublic community college accredited by the Higher LearningCommission. With robust student success support, free tutoring, 20athletic teams, events, clubs, and activities, MCC has an annual,full-time equated student enrollment of approximately 2,300 and anunduplicated headcount of 5,100. Most recently, Muskegon Community College outranked all othercolleges in Michigan for the rate of students who received federalfinancial aid and then transferred to continue their education at afour-year institution. The college’s transfer-out rate was thehighest in Michigan, 7 percentage points above the state average,and outpaced the average transfer rate across the nation. The College has an annual operating budget (general fund) of $51million and employs about 210 regular full and part-time staff andmany adjunct faculty and student assistants. The College alsooffers 52 Associate degree programs and 24 certificateprograms. The main campus is located on a 111-acre campus in Muskegon whichincludes the Hendrik Meijer Library & Information TechnologyCenter, Bartels-Rode Gymnasium, Frauenthal Foundation Fine ArtsCenter (including the Overbrook Theater and Art Gallery), StevensonCenter, the Science Center, the Health and Wellness Center, Art& Music Building, and MCC Golf Course. With oversight for the campus WelcomeCenter (One Stop Shop) and progress reporting/data analysis for thedepartment, this individual will be instrumental both withimproving efficiencies behind the scenes and ensuring the team isexceeding student service and success goals. RequiredSkills Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Bachelor’s degree required in business, education, marketing,human resources or closely related; master's degree preferred. Candidates with bilingual skills, especially Spanish,preferred. Communicates with enthusiasm, professionalism, and authenticityacross a variety of audiences and settings. Demonstrated excellence in written, oral and presentationcommunication skills with internal and external audiences, both oneon one and in large group settings. Demonstrated ability to relate to people of all ages, races,and social-economic backgrounds. Ability to energize and motivate others especially in medium tolarge sized groups and connect with individuals highly motivated,results-oriented customer service, sales, and recruitmentexperience preferred. Demonstrated use of tact, judgment and discretion and theability to maintain confidentiality. High proficiency in demonstration of office technology,software, & equipment. Ability and willingness to upgradeskills including technology or process changes. Demonstrated proficiency with enterprise system or CRM(customer relationship management system) Ellucian Colleaguepreferred. Must be adaptable and flexible to changes in tasks andprocesses. Requires prolonged sitting or standing, keyboarding and work oncomputer (hand/eye strain), speaking in English via phone or inperson. May require evening and occasional weekend hours for on or offcampus events. Valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation forvisiting area schools or off campus appointments. Essential Function: Hire, mentor, coach, develop, and supervise employees and workstudy students as assigned for the department. Serve as liaison to high school dual enrollment and directcredit students, and other parties responsible for the handling ofpartnerships. Assist supervisor in mentoring, training, directing,organizing, and leading staff. Manage and coordinate all aspects of dual enrollment, directcredit, and employer sponsorships programs including web pagecontent, marketing and communication. Oversee all aspects of the online workflow system including butnot limited to building the platform to functions for theprocessing of partnership documents, day-to-day functions,maintenance, reports, workflows, etc. Develop, analyze and deliver information regarding ongoingreporting and plans to continue improving strategies for studentand institutional success. Oversee and/or partner with others in events or programming asassigned including but not limited to Dual Enrollment 101, highschool visits, college fairs, and other recruitment events. Coordinate communications with all appropriate personnel athigh schools, state programs, and other partners regardingimportant information including registration and withdrawaldates. Assist incoming and currently enrolled students with admissionsand financial aid applications, scholarships, placement testing andplans for payment to ensure a seamless enrollment processthroughout the student’s tenure at MCC. Generate admission leads through personal and professionalcontacts, community/corporate partnerships, current students,alumni, and other lead generation initiatives. Meet/contact prospective new students and recruit at variouslocations including but not limited to the following: area highschools, skill centers, adult education, and alternativeeducation. Follow up with potential students to check on all stages oftheir entry to the institution and document as appropriate insystem. Plan, implement, and follow up on outreach campaigns targetingcollege age and non-traditional adult learners. Other duties as assigned.
